Plan for New Apartments, Townhomes Moves Forward in Plymouth
A vacant plot of land in Plymouth could soon be the site of a new mixed-use development that includes apartments, townhomes and retail space.
Wednesday night, the Plymouth Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a plan to redevelop a site north of Highway 55 and south of 10th Avenue.
The plan calls for construction of a 330-unit apartment complex, 12 townhomes, and 5,600 square feet of retail space.
Developers would also build two new roads to accommodate the people living and shopping at the new complex.
Residents raised concerns about the increased traffic in the area, but city staff indicated that the nearby roads were built to accommodate the additional traffic.
The Plymouth City Council will have their say during their meeting on Feb. 6.
