Pints & Paddle Celebrates Maple Grove Grand Opening
A new concept in Maple Grove mixes two areas that have seen incredibly fast growth — pickleball and craft beer.
Pints & Paddle celebrated its grand opening Thursday.
Located south of Highway 610 in The Grove shopping center next to Target, Pints & Paddle features 10 indoor pickleball courts, a state-of-the-art self serve taproom and a restaurant that overlooks the courts.
The owners say the concept is a first for the Twin Cities.
“Really the combination of bringing the two together is we didn’t want to have people feel like, ‘oh, if I don’t play pickleball, I can’t go there,'” said Tim Skaja, one of the owners, along with his wife, Tammy. “So you come in and you’ll see, you can be in the taproom side, you can kind of get glimpses of pickleball, but you can be in there playing trivia and you wouldn’t even know pickleball is going on. I think that’s what sets us apart.”
Pints & Paddle offers more than 70 beer taps, seltzer, cider and wine, as well as a menu from Malone’s Bar and Grill.
As far as the pickleball, Skaja said they worked with USA Pickleball for the court designs.
“We really wanted to bring something different to the cities and Maple Grove,” said Skaja. “We raised our kids here. We really like pickleball and we thought in Minnesota with the weather, you need something to do inside.”
