Pet Grooming Business Finds Growth During COVID-19, ‘Everybody Got a Dog During the Pandemic’
The owner of a pet grooming business called Bubbly Paws in Maple Grove says business is up 15 to 20 percent over last year.
“We’re one of the small businesses that can actually say, ‘hey, we grew from the pandemic,'” said Keith Miller, owner.
Miller attributes one of the reasons to a spike in pet adoptions.
“I feel like everybody got a dog during the pandemic,” said Miller. “Even our neighbors all got dogs.”
Grooming services account for about three quarters of the sales at the Maple Grove location. The self-service dog wash and other items are also popular.
“It’s way less messy coming here,” said Nicole Carlson, a customer who brought her corgi in for a bath.
