Pedestrian Fatally Struck Crossing Interstate Exit in Maple Grove
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating an incident early Thursday morning in Maple Grove in which a pedestrian was struck and killed crossing an interstate exit ramp.
According to the State Patrol, it happened just before 5:15 a.m. on the westbound I-94 exit to Weaver Lake Road.
The State Patrol says a pedestrian was crossing from the north to the south side of the ramp when that person was struck by a Toyota Highlander sport utility vehicle.
As of Thursday afternoon, the identity of the person killed had not been released. No other details of the incident were immediately available.
In addition to the State Patrol, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Maple Grove police and firefighters, and North Memorial Health ambulance personnel responded to the incident.
