Paulie’s Opens Maple Grove’s First Ice Bar
Now that winter weather has finally arrived, a Maple Grove restaurant is getting in on the frozen fun.
Paulie’s opened a new ice bar on its outdoor patio, which the owner is now calling “Paulie’s Polar Lounge.”
“It opened officially [Jan. 9] ” said Paul Sarratori, the owner of Paulie’s. “We have games, and heat lamps and this is a pet-friendly and kid-friendly space.”
The company that provides ice to Paulie’s built an ice sculpture as a way to encourage customers to embrace the cold and enjoy some time outside with food, beverages and a few games.
“Minnesotans embrace the cold,” Sarratori said. “Don’t get me wrong, they love the heat. We love to warm up afterward. But we do embrace the cold here in Minnesota, and what better way to do it than to come out here and enjoy some nice drinks, and some games, and have some camaraderie here at this ice bar.”
Paulie’s Polar Lounge is available at Paulie’s Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Paulie’s also has a special menu for the ice bar.
