Rachel Brady “Theater Educator of the Year”
The Minnesota Education Theater Association selected Rachel Brady from Cooper High School as the Theater Educator of the Year. The group awarded Brady on Saturday, September 15 at the annual Communications and Theater Association Conference.
“Her most recent one act production of “The Macbeths” which was at State last January was highlighted in her nomination,” says Gregg Sawyer of the Minnesota Education Theater Association. “The award represents her continual work in inclusion and diversity in casting and her provocative and creative vison in directing.”
Her nomination came from a retired teacher in the Robbinsdale school district.
Neal Luebke inducted into RHS Distinguished Teacher Hall of Fame
The Robbinsdale High School Alumni Association voted a beloved theater teacher into their Distinguished Teacher Hall of Fame. He is the 35th inductee. Neal Luebke taught for two decades at Cooper High School. Students knew Luebke as a challenging, but rewarding teacher. Former students held a program this past summer honoring the teacher they called “Uncle Neal.”
The Association plans a private presentation and induction for October.
