Maple Grove’s Passion Church Offers Free Gas to Health Care Workers
Health Care workers at Maple Grove Hospital received a pleasant surprise Friday afternoon. Members of Passion Church gathered at Steve’s Auto World of Maple Grove, (which is just across the street from the hospital), and bought gas for any health care worker who stopped by.
The gas giveaway lasted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24.
“At Passion Church, we truly want to impact our communities in a positive way,” said Rachel Bailey, a staff member at Passion Church. “So we have a campus here in Maple Grove, and we wanted to just bless those that are on the front lines of this pandemic and say ‘thank you’ for everything that they’re doing.”
The event went from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Church leaders estimate they gave away several thousand dollars in gas to the hospital employees.
“Gas is something that you don’t always think about as far as blessing someone,” Bailey said. “And this was just a great way for our amazing volunteers to come together as one collective unit and say ‘thank you.'”
Hospital employees had to show their hospital ID badge to qualify for the gas giveaway.
