‘Paso a Paso’ Aims to Inspire Latino Community to ‘Step to It’
Hennepin County holds the annual Step to It challenge every year in May. This year there’s an outreach to the Latino community called “Paso a Paso.”
“I’m very excited to promote this with the Latino community because we have seen that participation with Latino and other communities was very low,” said Giannina Posner, coordinator. “We want to inspire people to say ‘you can do it!’”
Posner has been working to engage the Latino community in the project. She hopes to double participation over last year’s participants. Posner has also created a video to share on social media and is preparing for a kickoff event on Saturday, April 30 at Becker Park in Crystal.
The kickoff event will include a food truck, Zumba classes, music and games. It will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
