Park Center Students Bring ‘The SpongeBob Musical’ to Stage March 9-11
Park Center High School’s spring show is “The SpongeBob Musical” from March 9-11.
The show is a whirlwind of music, color and energy.
“It makes people feel like they’re not just watching us on stage. It makes them feel appreciated for coming,” said Lesley McGaster, one of the actors in the show.
The show is set in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom with a volcanic eruption looming. Protagonists SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy struggle to stay united and save the town. SpongeBob emerges as an unlikely hero, while Sandy is the voice of reason.
“Every other character benefits from SpongeBob’s presence. While SpongeBob might not have other traits besides being silly, he bolsters everyone else’s character,” said Baron Penner, who plays SpongeBob.
The core of the story is about friendship and perseverance.
