Park Center Multi-Use Sports Dome Slated to Open Nov. 1
The Brooklyn Park City Council unanimously approved a joint powers agreement with the Osseo School District Monday to build and operate a multi-use sports dome.
The dome will be built at Park Center High School. It would cost a total of $7.7 million. Osseo Area Schools would pay $4.3 million, or just over half the cost. The school district would install the artificial turf and add parking, according to the agreement. The city would pay for the rest, including the dome construction (see graphic below). The agreement is similar to what Maple Grove has with its high school and the multi-use sports dome there.
Work is expected to start in June. City officials tell CCX News that the facility would open as soon as Nov. 1.
