Osseo Schools Promote Good Hygiene During Coronavirus Alert
The Osseo School District is staying proactive when it comes to preventing the spread of a potential crisis related to the coronavirus.
The school will have a district-level team to monitor the developing situation. The team will also coordinate response specific to the coronavirus.
The district nurse, Melissa Sennes, said right now the plan is to follow the advice of the Centers for Disease control and the MN Department of Health. The plan calls for schools to review pandemic plans from previous potential pandemic issues like Ebola and the swine flu.
“With any sort of outbreak or infection, hand washing, covering your cough, your sneezes, staying home when you’re sick. Those are the best preventable measures when you are sick,” explained Sennes.
The MN Dept. of Health is not recommending that events or extracurricular actives be canceled.
Currently, there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Minnesota.
