Osseo, Robbinsdale, Wayzata Districts Announce Plans for In-Person Return to School
The governor’s guidance allows elementary schools to return to in-person learning on January 18. This week the Osseo, Robbinsdale, and Wayzata districts announced tentative plans for returning to in-person learning five days a week. The transition will begin with PreK-2nd grade students on Jan. 18 followed by 3rd-5th grade on Feb. 1. Plans differ for returning secondary students to in-person learning.
Osseo Area Schools (279)
Superintendent Cory McIntyre outlined the procedure for returning to in-person learning with a letter released on Monday, Dec. 21. He also presented ideas to the school board in a meeting on Dec. 18.
In the plan, students will return from winter break in a distance learning model on Jan. 4. Then, students in K-2nd grade will return to five-day, in-person learning on Jan. 19. Students in early childhood programs will attend on their assigned days.
Then students in grades 3-5 will return to school on Feb. 1.
Students in secondary schools will remain in distance learning.

Robbinsdale Area Schools (281)
Students in Robbinsdale Area Schools will have a similar scenario. The district is planning to transition PreK – 2nd grade students on Jan. 19 and grades 3-5 beginning Feb. 1. The district stresses the plans are tentative and they plan to communicate a confirmed plan during winter break.
The plan is to shift secondary students to in-person learning on Jan. 26.

Wayzata Public Schools (284)
In an email to parents, Superintendent Chace Anderson outlined Wayzata’s plans to bring students back to in-person learning. You can review the timeline here.
PreK through 2nd grade students will also return to class on Jan. 19 and grades 3-5 will return to class five days a week on Feb. 1. Like other districts, students can choose to remain learning in a distance learning environment.
Middle school and high school students will remain in the current model, with the high school looking to scale-up in-person experiences under the current modified hybrid model.
The Anoka-Hennepin School District announced similar return to learning plans last week.
