Osseo Picks Spot for Municipal Cannabis Store
The city of Osseo is moving ahead with plans for a municipal cannabis store.
It will be located at 33 2nd St. NE, a former newspaper office, located just off Central Avenue.
City officials have been mulling a municipal cannabis operation since 2024 and have partnered with a third-party management service called Voyager Cannabis Services to help get their shop off the ground.
The city bought the former Press and News building with the consideration that it could one day become a city-run cannabis store, but only finalized those plans on Monday with city council approval.
Meanwhile, several retail cannabis stores recently got the green light from the state to start selling recreational cannabis.
Moving ahead, Osseo city staff members will work with Voyager to develop operational plans for the business.
