Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Hosts Fundraiser for People Fighting Cancer
The Fighters Foundation, a local nonprofit, is looking to raise money in Osseo this weekend to help people fighting cancer and other illnesses.
On Saturday, Oct. 30, the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion will host the annual event. The Fighters Foundation organizes the fundraiser to help people having a hard time with expenses related to cancer and other illnesses like neurological disorders.
Saturday’s event will have live music, prizes and a mustache contest.
“We hear of people through friends, family, people reaching out through our website that say, ‘you know, I know somebody that’s going through this, they’re down on their luck, they don’t have a lot of money,'” said Josh Iskierka, founder and president of the Fighters Foundation.
“We’re able to have a fundraiser and write them a check in their name to them, and say ‘hey, use this for whatever you need. Just get better.'”
The Fighters Foundation fundraiser takes place Saturday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion is located at 260 4th Avenue SE, Osseo, MN 55369.
