Osseo Area School District Student Art Show ‘Very Gratifying’
Creativity is on full display at the Maple Grove Government Center, which features some of the best student art in the northwest suburbs.
Students from all grades in the Osseo Area School District created a wide range of works, including sculptures, paintings and art made using colored pencil.
“We do follow some students each year. And you see their work progressing through the grades. It’s actually very gratifying to watch,” said Lise Spence-Parsons with the Maple Grove Arts Center.
One of the highlights of the show is presenting the Jacob Beneke Scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to study art. The scholarship will be presented during an awards event on May 15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Beneke was the former Maple Grove Arts Center president who was tragically killed in a workplace shooting on Sept. 27, 2012.
More than 100 student art pieces are on display, which you can view through May 17.
