Omni Brewing Looks For Home Run With Baseball-Themed Pizza
Every city needs a good watering hole, and for 10 years, OMNI Brewing has been just that for folks in Maple Grove.
“You know patio, beer, nice weather, live music, can’t really go wrong,” said Nick Kleppe, OMNI’s marketing director.
You can also add pizza into that mix.
Two years ago, Bear Paw Pizza became a permanent fixture at the brewery, and if you come in on Tuesdays, you can take advantage of their Toppings & Tunes’ special.
“You get basically a pizza and a pour, for anywhere from $16 to $19,” Kleppe said. “Just kind of depends on the pizza you order. But yeah, it’s a great deal.”
OMNI has several fixed pizzas on the menu, but they’ve empowered their staff to create their own “pizza of the month.'”
April’s pizza happens to be baseball-themed.
“So it’s called ‘Bases Loaded.’ We have an employee named Dan who, I guess, is a big fan of Chicago dogs,” said Carson Coffman, the director of pizza operations for Bear Paw Pizza.
All month, OMNI is serving up a pizza that’s made to taste like a Chicago dog.
The “Bases Loaded” consists of a base of garlic crème fraîche, parmesan, mozzarella, beef franks, and a poppy seed rim.
After a couple of minutes in an oven set at 750-degrees, it’s topped with yellow mustard, relish, cherry tomatoes, raw white onion, peppers and dash of celery salt.
Since OMNI launched pizza of the month in February, it’s been a grand slam with customers.
“Some of the highest selling pizzas have been pizza of the month,” said Coffman.
OMNI was started 10 years ago as a way to bring the community together. And what better way to do that than with beer and pizza.
“Listen to some live music, get a beer, get a pizza. There’s not much better than that, right,” said Kleppe.
