Not Too Late to Register for Gus Macker Basketball Tourney
The deadline is quickly approaching to register for the Gus Macker basketball tournament, which will bring hundreds of players — along with their friends and families — to Brooklyn Park.
The Gus Macker basketball tournament will take place the weekend of Aug. 2 at North Hennepin Community College.
Organizers are hoping to register more than 200 teams for the two-day event, which will feature celebrity appearances, a dunk contest and three-on-three basketball games featuring players of all different ages and skill levels.

“It’s a great community event,” said KB Balla, an event organizer and founder of NextGen Legacy Foundation. “It actually brings families and friends, and just kind of hang out for two days and just have fun.”
It’s $200 to register a team of four players. The registration fee helps to support local nonprofits, such as NextGen Legacy Foundation.
