North Hennepin’s Chorus is Back on Stage
North Hennepin Community College musicians performed on stage after not performing in public for nearly two years.
The Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band and Choral Department all gave concerts. It was the debut for Gary Ruschman as Director of Choir and Voice Instruction at North Hennepin.
Holiday themed.
The theme of the choral concert was “Cocoa, Carols, and Crossings.”
Several varieties of music were featured. The Robert Frost poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” was set to music. Classic favorites like “My Favorite Things” with accompanying trumpet solo from David Mantini were also enjoyed. Lastly, they even threw in some relative contemporary pieces such as “Orinoco Flow” by Enya which was released 33 years ago.
