North Hennepin Students Prep for Spring Concerts
North Hennepin Community College students are getting ready for spring concerts.
CCX News caught up with the North Hennepin choir, directed by Gary Ruschman, as they rehearsed for their May 2 performance.
The students spoke of the positive special connections they’ve built through performing.
“It’s just so much fun going up and singing, and getting to do it with other people, especially the people I do it with have always been wonderful,” said Tristan Hoole, choir member at North Hennepin.
The theme of Friday’s concert is “Life in the City.”
“My personal favorite part of the show is all the poetry, the ambience behind it, and I’m really hoping that the audience is as touched by it as we all are,” said Em Reko, also a choir member.
Added student Deanna Luu, “We’ve put so much time and effort into the music and we really want to share that music with everyone.”
The choir performance starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2, at the college’s Fine Arts Center.
