Nonprofit TreeHouse Gets New Plymouth Home for Teen Services
A local nonprofit dedicated to helping teens end hopelessness through mentoring and support groups now has a new home.
TreeHouse moved in December from a residential property in New Hope to a new location at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
The new venue offers a gym where teens can play basketball or other games, and more meeting spaces where TreeHouse staff can do their programming.
“Our primary programs are support group and mentoring,” said Marcus Peterson, vice president of training and network engagement with TreeHouse. “So Tuesday nights, teens are coming in, playing games. We’re providing a meal for them and then we break up into small groups and the whole point of that is helping teens realize that they’re not alone.”
TreeHouse has more than 50 locations in ten states. The Plymouth location serves about a hundred teens in grades 7-12 from the northwest metro.
