NHCC President Leaving for St. Scholastica
There will be change at the top of North Hennepin Community College. The president of the two-year school in Brooklyn Park, Barbara McDonald, is leaving to become the president of St. Scholastica.
St. Scholastica is a small private college in Duluth with a total enrollment of more than 4,000 students. By comparison, North Hennepin’s enrollment has grown to more than 10,000 students.
McDonald has led North Hennepin since 2015. A recent CCX News report showed North Hennepin contributed $272 million to the state economy in 2017. Her work at the Brooklyn Park college is part of 22 years spent in the Minnesota State system, working at a variety of community colleges as both a faculty member and administrator.
The North Hennepin president has a connection to St. Scholastica. It’s where McDonald began her undergraduate studies. She will start her new job in August.
