Newsmakers: Superintendent Engstrom Talks Need for New Strategic Plan
Robbinsdale Area Schools is in the process of creating a new strategic plan that Superintendent David Engstrom calls a “roadmap” for where the district is going to be in five years.
“The pandemic has changed us so much that we need a new plan for the future,” said Engstrom. “A strategic plan for Robbinsdale schools is really going to outline who we want to become in the next 5 years and what we want to execute to become that.”
The community is invited to share their thoughts at input sessions that begin on May 10.
“We are asking for our community, please participate. We’re going to put quantitative and qualitative data out in our community and we want people to respond to it to guide our strategic plan,” explained Engstrom. “Then, what we are hoping to do before the Board of Education in June, is approve those themes and then we’ll start to develop those execution plans and strategies that we’ll be implementing in the early fall.”
Engstrom says the district has grown and learned new strategies during the pandemic, and you can expect to see those reflected in the new plan.
“We want to make sure that we capture this moment in time of the opportunities of what the pandemic has brought to us, but also the stresses its caused on our students and staff and what we are going to do to address those in the future,” said Engstrom.
