Newsmakers: PRISM Launches Summer Donation Challenge, School Supply Drive
After seeing a bump in demand this summer, PRISM Executive Director Michelle Ness is asking people to consider making a donation.
“At PRISM we see the need go up during the summer,” said Ness. “While people are out enjoying the wonderful weather, there are kids who are also home from school. These are kids who are running hard and they are hungry.”
Ness invites people to participate in a donation challenge.
“This is a grant opportunity through Open Your Heart, which is an organization that supports places like PRISM, so donations through the summer will be matched,” said Ness.
But that’s not the only place where you can make a difference this summer at PRISM.
Their “Back to School Success” is collecting donations now through August 9.
“Backpacks are our greatest need and we want to make sure kids have quality backpacks,” said Ness.
The school supply drive serves students in grades K-12.
