Newsmakers: Medical Alley Talks Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Efforts
Medical Alley’s Alexis Kochanski says they’ve seen renewed energy around diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at companies in the medical device industry.
“We’ve seen a lot of small companies interested in how to get started and larger companies continuing to want to share what they’ve been doing,” said Kochanski.
Medical Alley has launched a website that focuses on sharing these efforts.
Kochanski says one of the efforts involves a STEM program where a company partners with high schools across the metro area.
“It really is all about focusing on diverse communities and changing the face of STEM as it relates to women in particular,” said Kochanski. “They’ve created a blueprint that is scalable to smaller organizations and large ones. Anybody can read that blueprint and apply it.”
Medical Alley is an association of more than 600 member companies that span the entire ecosystem of health innovation and care. Many of the companies are located in the northwest suburbs.
