Newsmakers: Hennepin County Commissioner Kevin Anderson Talks Broadband, Veterans Homelessness
Hennepin County Commissioner Kevin Anderson represents District 7, which includes Maple Grove, Champlin, Corcoran, Dayton and northwestern Hennepin County. He’s been on the job four about four months.
In our Newsmakers segment, he spoke about the push for broadband internet as being vital for a growing number of workers. Anderson serves as chairman of public works. Anderson says looking at how communities are connected is more than just roads and bridges.
“To me, it’s also internet connectivity. It’s so important for workers to have stable access to broadband internet so they can continue to do their job,” said Anderson.
Anderson has also been meeting with veterans groups and organizations that serve veterans to learn more about veteran homelessness.
“There are so many partners that are doing great work in this,” said Anderson. “The better lessons we can learn with this with veterans, the better off our whole community is going to be.”
Anderson says focusing on veterans issues is going to be an important part of solving homelessness for the whole community.
