Newsmakers: Amplify Mission Network Empowers Nonprofits with Business Expertise
Amplify Mission Network brings together local business leaders and emerging faith-inspired nonprofits in a unique partnership aimed at solving real-world challenges.
President Andrea McMaster explains that Amplify’s bimonthly meetings allow business experts to offer strategic advice, connections, and solutions, helping nonprofits overcome obstacles and grow. She calls it a win-win-win.
“The business leaders are finding a new sense of purpose with their professional expertise in a philanthropic way,” said McMaster. “The nonprofit leaders are overcoming these obstacles and growing these nonprofits more than they ever imagined. Then our Minnesota communities and places around the world are strengthened because the nonprofits are better fulfilling their missions.”
McMaster says Amplify Mission Network’s core mission is very unique.
“It’s creating spaces where business leaders can give away their expertise and skills,” said McMaster. “We feel so good when we are giving to others and there’s so much power in collaboration. There’s power in that we can do all things together. I think about the nonprofit leaders that are emerging and they have a passionate idea, but they face a challenge or obstacle. You know if you have someone alongside you in your journey, that feels really good. Then they can focus on those that they are called to serve.”
One example of that collaboration is with a nonprofit called Hope Farm School. The leaders spoke to the business group about how they can use their farm to grow revenue, and leaders encouraged the nonprofit to create boxes to sell that are filled with farm-grown food.
