New Tavern at Edinburgh To Open at Brooklyn Park Golf Course
Edinburgh USA golf course in Brooklyn Park is preparing to open a new restaurant at its clubhouse this spring. It will be called Tavern at Edinburgh, replacing The Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn, owned by D’Amico Catering, mutually ended its agreement with the city last year. According to city documents, it ended because of “poor financial performance.”
The new operator is Jason Tollette, who runs the Tavern at Green Haven, located at Green Haven Golf Course in Anoka. Tollette will take over food and drink sales at Edinburgh USA as well.
Brooklyn Park Recreation and Parks Director Brad Tullberg said the new clubhouse restaurant plans to have a wide variety of food. That includes specialty nights with food options potentially including crab legs and prime rib.
“All in all, it’s going to be great for our community. We believe it will provide broader community access to the event spaces and to Edinburgh in general,” Tullberg said.
He said people often think Edinburgh is a private club, when in reality it’s available for anyone in the community to use.
To boost community use, the city hired a clubhouse supervisor. Roxann Maxey will manage room rentals and coordination through the city. Also in that role, renters will be able to select any caterer for their events, not just the one on site like the previous operation.
Tullberg said they hope to have Tavern at Edinburgh open to the community by March 1.
