New Restaurant Max’s on Main Expects October Opening in Maple Grove
A new restaurant is coming soon to Maple Grove, one that will replace a venue that closed last year at the start of the pandemic.
Max’s on Main plans to open by mid to late October. It will replace The Claddagh Irish Pub, which closed in March 2020, when Minnesota had its first COVID-19 cases.
Owner Raul Gracia describes Max’s on Main as a sports bar and grill with “a fun atmosphere.”
“I’m excited that we’re going to be here in the community,” said Gracia.
Gracia comes with culinary background. He previously ran JC’s Bar and Grill and currently works with the Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens wedding venue in Brooklyn Park. Gracia said Jordan Leopold helped him find the space.
“He’s been a great mentor. He’s the first guy that came in and looked at the place when I was looking at spaces. I know that they’re all rooting for me,” he said.
The Maple Grove City Council approved a liquor license for the new restaurant at its meeting Tuesday night. Council members expressed excitement to have the vacant space filled.
“We’re very happy to see a business coming in there,” said Maple Grove City Council member Phil Leith.
