New Restaurant Apa Sushi Opening Soon in Maple Grove
A new restaurant is coming to Maple Grove that aims to provide authentic Japanese and Tibetan cuisine.
Apa Sushi will occupy space in The Grove shopping center off Interstate 94 and Maple Grove Parkway. It’s replacing the former Tandoor Indoor Cuisine, which has moved to a new location that opens later this month.
Sonam Nyorie, the owner of Apa Sushi, also operates several other Twin Cities restaurants, including Momo Sushi and Momo Cafe in Northeast Minneapolis and Ama Sushi in Edina.
Nyorie said Momo Sushi recently had a fire and is temporarily closed. No cause was revealed.
“This makes Apa Sushi even more important as we continue serving our customers and creating jobs in this community,” said Nyorie, who spoke at Monday’s Maple Grove City Council meeting.
The council approved a liquor license for the venue.
Nyorie said Apa Sushi is hoping to open in mid-October.
