New Maple Grove Restaurant Northern Taphouse Expects Fall Opening
A new restaurant is coming to The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove.
Northern Taphouse will begin renovations to replace the former Red Lobster, located at 12515 Elm Creek Blvd. N. Red Lobster closed last year.
According to operators of Northern Taphouse, it’s expected to be a three- to four-month project.
“We’re excited to get going,” said Matthew Letnis, partner with Lincoln Hospitality, which runs the family restaurant.
Letnis spoke this week before the Maple Grove Planning Commission, which reviewed a proposed patio addition.
The restaurant plans to add a 1,600-square-foot patio on the north side of the building with room for 65 people.
The planning commission recommended approval.
“The outside patio is very nice. It’s going to make a nice addition,” said Lorie Klein, planning commission member.
The Maple Grove City Council will have the final say on the patio request.
The project will also include an entrance tower on the west side of the building. The restaurant also plans to have a shared-parking agreement with the nearby Shake Shack restaurant.
Northern Taphouse has three other Twin Cities locations, including one in Plymouth.
The Maple Grove location is hoping to open by mid-fall.
