New Maple Grove Broadway Pizza To Include Axe Throwing
A new Broadway Bar & Pizza is moving into Maple Grove. But unlike other Broadway Pizzas in the Twin Cities, this one will have something different.
Located at 7890 Main Street in the former Max’s on Main spot, this particular franchised version will include a section of the restaurant for axe throwing. According to the International Axe Throwing Federation, the sport of axe throwing has experienced “phenomenal growth.”
While this will be the first Broadway Pizza venue with axe throwing, it’s a not a first for Maple Grove. Under the same roof as Chanticlear Pizza, there’s Dragon’s Lair Axe & Tap, a business that opened in December for axe throwing.
The owner of the new Broadway Pizza, Matt Pohlkamp, is different than the previous Maple Grove location. The other location on Elm Creek Boulevard closed in October 2022 when that owner retired.
The Maple Grove City Council recently approved a liquor license for the new venue.
Pohlkamp told council members that he expects to “open soon,” possibly by late March or early April.
