New Hope Increases Keeping of Chickens to Four Maximum
The New Hope City Council made changes to the city’s domestic animal ordinance this past week. The changes impact the keeping of chickens.
The revised ordinance increases the maximum amount of chickens from three to four. It still prohibits roosters, or male chickens, as well as other types of fowl like ducks or peacocks.
Council members also voted to add language that is similar to Crystal’s city code on coop conditions allowed.
You do have to have a permit to have chickens and it has to be renewed each year.
