Recently Opened New Hope City Hall Gets Needed Upgrades
Alongside the recently opened New Hope City Hall, you’ll see construction zones. Crews are working to develop sidewalks and a parking lot.
City officials say work will remain over the next couple of weeks. But it shouldn’t stop you from coming inside the new building, which is fully operational.
“We officially moved into business July 1 of this year,” said Keith Beise, New Hope’s communication coordinator. “Everything in here is clean and put together, the outside will mirror that soon.”
Beise told CCX that the new city hall is about the same size as the old one, only it’s more spacious and allows more natural lighting.
“Overall, it’s a much more modern place for people to come to work as well,” Beise added.
Modern Technology at New Hope City Hall
New Hope City Hall also has some of the latest technology including hearing loops.
“They’re for people who have hearing loss,” Beise explained. “They can actually connect their hearing aids directly to it so it’s feeding a stream right into their hearing aids, if the have such devices.”
New technology also allows the council chambers to get better audio and visuals during meetings.
“The reaction from anyone coming here is just ‘wow,’ it’s so night and day compared to our old city hall,” Beise said.
Other features include a digital board for information and easier access to city departments. While it’s unclear when construction will wrap up, Beise hopes everyone knows the city appreciates their patience.
Construction also continues for the future swimming pool, which will be located next to the city hall.
The pool is scheduled to open next summer.
