New Crystal Townhome Option Draws Significant Demand
A newly completed project has revealed considerable demand for different housing options in Crystal.
“There’s nothing like this,” said John Sutter, Crystal’s community development director. “It provides a housing option that we just don’t have.”
Sutter is referring to the 3-bed, 2.5-bath Creek Edge Townhomes, located off 36th and Douglas avenues. A total of eight townhome units replaced what was a small, single-family home.
Aaron Baruch, the developer behind the project, said what makes the townhomes particularly unique is they’re all for rent with upscale amenities.
Baruch said more than 200 people inquired about the eight units, each with about 1,900 square feet of living space.
“I think it really does present a unique opportunity because people can get into such a high level, luxury-level living type of place at a pretty reasonable price point,” said Baruch.
Rent is roughly $2,500 a month for each of the townhomes. All of them rented out quickly.

Baruch said he would be interested in building something like this again in Crystal if the opportunity presented itself.
“I think it’s really something that residents of Crystal and future residents of Crystal can really appreciate,” said Baruch.
