Neighbors Should Expect Overnight Construction on West Broadway Bridge Project Friday Night
In an attempt to improve the intersection below the bridges that connect Theodore Wirth and Victory Memorial parkways, Hennepin County will be setting major beams at the West Broadway Avenue bridge the evening of July 15th. Crews are expected to use a large crane, so crews will work overnight and close the roads nearby.
“This is is a part of a two and a half year project that started last year. We mainly focused on building two bridges on southbound 81 and we are continuing of the northbound 81 bridge. So the real focus here is just to try to improve on the old infrastructure out here,” said Tony Schrempp, Hennepin County construction division manager. “When we do replaces these bridges in the interchange that we are making safety improvements and trail connections as well.”
Road closures can be expected to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday July 15th and should be completed by 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16.
The detour routes for traffic will vary depending on traffic and time of day for travel. The routes are listed, and a map is provided at the link here.
