Nadia Cakes Savors State Fair Treat ‘Land of 10,000 Cakes’
If you’re missing the sweet treats of the Minnesota State Fair, a Maple Grove cupcake shop is giving people another chance to enjoy one of this year’s new food items.
Nadia Cakes made its big state fair debut this year, partnering with Bridgeman’s Ice Cream on a treat called “The Land of 10,000 Cakes.”
The dessert is a concoction of three cupcakes (chocolate bliss, crème brûlée, and pistachio) paired with Bridgeman’s Butter Brittle ice cream and topped with a cherry.
If you didn’t get a chance to try it at the Great Minnesota Get-Together, you’re in luck. Nadia Cakes is selling the parfait all month long at its stores in Maple Grove and Woodbury.
“Being as not everybody can make it to the State Fair, we wanted to make it as accessible to anybody that’s around,” said Maria Kowalzek, the assistant manager of Nadia Cakes. “Super exciting to get to try something from the State Fair, not at the State Fair.”

The Land of 10,000 cakes is a concoction of three cupcakes, Bridgeman’s butter brittle ice cream and whipped cream.
Kowalzek says Nadia Cakes’ big State Fair debut went well, in large part because owner and acclaimed author Abby Jimenez has a huge fan base.
“She has a huge following,” said Kowalzek. “A lot of fans of Abby definitely made it a point to go to the State Fair, specifically to get The Land of 10,000 Cakes, for sure.”
The Land of 10,000 Cakes will be available at Nadia Cakes through the end of September. The cost is $10.95 (it was $14 at the fair).
No word yet on whether there will be a return appearance at next year’s State Fair.
