Motorcyclist ID’d in Fatal Robbinsdale Crash
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash June 7 in Robbinsdale.
The examiner says Lucas Weyenberg, 21, of Victoria died from injuries sustained in the crash that occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. last Friday.
Crystal police say an officer observed Weyenberg traveling at a high speed on eastbound 42nd Avenue North near Winnetka Avenue. The officer tried to pull the motorcyclist over, but he didn’t stop, police said.
Police say they discontinued the pursuit after losing sight of the motorcycle.
About two minutes later, the motorcycle crashed in Robbinsdale near the intersection of 42nd Avenue North and West Broadway Avenue. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Weyenberg was pronounced dead at the scene.
