Moore Magic to Open in Plymouth Playhouse
Two Plymouth magicians will take their magic show to the stage at Plymouth Playhouse for a July to October run. The first show by Moore Magic will be July 13.
About Moore Magic
A good magic show is part illusion, part showmanship, and part story. The Moores, who have lived in Plymouth for the past 11 years, have all three. They grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota. Adam Moore started performing magic when he was 10. His now-wife Lisa started working as an assistant on the show in high school.
“I joined on and little by little his friends grew up,” says Lisa, who now is a magician in her own right. “I forgot to grow up.”
The couple plays off of each other’s antics on stage. Their Moore Magic show has entertained birthday parties, corporate affairs, festival goers, and even television audiences.
“We were at the Lowe’s in Plymouth and we were randomly caught on camera,” remembers Lisa, when the TV-show Bath Crashers featured the magic couple. “We had a bathroom remodel and were able to perform magic as part of the show.”
Lisa even let the bathroom renovators ‘saw’ her in half.
“They accidentally took a skill saw and sawed me in half,” jokes Lisa. “I usually manage to make it out of everything.”
Moore Magic at Plymouth Playhouse
When the couple heard about Troupe America, creators of The Church Basement Ladies, closing up shop at the Plymouth Playhouse, they came to check out the sale that featured light fixtures and more.
“It helped plant the seed,” says Adam. “We thought I wonder what they will do with this space. We should ask.”
They did and moved quickly. The Moores finalized details of renting out the stage for a few months. The magicians will perform shows on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning Friday, July 13. The shows vary in length and all are family friendly. Tickets can be purchased online.
“This is something we’ve been dreaming about,” says Adam.
