Monroe Elementary Teacher Receives $2,000 Classroom Surprise
It was a big surprise for students and an even bigger surprise for one teacher at Monroe Elementary School in Brooklyn Park.
Office Depot surprised teacher Billie Davis-Fehr by naming her an “All Star Teacher” and providing her with $2,000 worth of supplies for the classroom. Davis-Fehr has taught special ed for the last seven years at Monroe Elementary.
“It’s really just such a tight-knit community of teachers and parents and administration, that the fact that we’ve been recognized for this is like unbelievable,” said Davis-Fehr.
Students were surprised too. Office Depot provided 600 Monroe students with new backpacks filled with school supplies.
Monroe Elementary is one of more than 25 schools in the nation to benefit from Office Depot’s Start Proud! program.
Evergreen Park Elementary in Brooklyn Center will be presented with backpacks at a later date.
