MN House Passes Elections Budget Bill Authored by Golden Valley Lawmaker
A bill authored by a Golden Valley lawmaker would provide additional funding for elections and help pay for security upgrades.
The Minnesota House recently passed the elections budget bill (HF 4411), authored by Rep. Mike Freiberg, DFL-Golden Valley.
The bill would help local governments with certain election-related expenses such as voting equipment, cybersecurity and improving physical access to a voting location.
It also aims to provide more clarity on the source of campaign donations.
The bill is now in conference committee, where members of the House and Senate will work together to find common ground on the bill that was passed by each chamber.
