Minnesota Wild Visit Noble Elementary School
Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Reaves, Olympic gold medalist Hannah Brandt and Wild mascot Nordy visited the students at Noble Elementary in Golden Valley on Friday.
The program emphasizes physical fitness, nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices for students. It’s called Minnesota Wild Faceoff for Fitness.
“The main goal is to promote healthy eating, getting out, being active,” explained Kalli Funk, Hockey Partnerships Manager with the Minnesota Wild. “We do have them make a pact, 60-minutes of exercise each day.”
The Wild also donated street hockey equipment to the school and each student got to take home a pack of Wild playing cards that contain fitness and nutrition tips.
“This is one way we can really connect with the community. The kids love it, as you can see with the assembly. They just get so excited,” said Funk.
