Minnesota Lynx Honors Longtime CCX Reporter for Inspiring Women
The Minnesota Lynx honored a longtime member of the CCX Media family for its “Inspiring Women” platform.
Former CCX News reporter Sonya Goins, a breast cancer survivor, was recognized by the Lynx during the team’s game on Aug. 23 against the Las Vegas Aces.
Goins has not only fought to overcome cancer, but she also continues her journey battling Crohn’s disease. She has shared that journey on social media at #SonyaStrong.
“I am truly grateful to be recognized by the MN Lynx as part of their Inspiring Women platform,” said Goins in a post on social media. “This honor highlights my commitment to raising breast cancer awareness by sharing my personal journey.”
Goins, who worked at CCX News from 2013 to 2023, shares her story to encourage people to remind their loved ones to conduct monthly breast exams and schedule regular mammograms.
