Minnesota Historical Society Makes History Day Competitions Virtual
The Minnesota Historical Society made the difficult decision to suspend remaining in-person regional history day competitions.
History Day competitions involve students researching subject matter and presenting their findings to their peers. This year’s theme is “Breaking Barriers in History.”
The competitions will be moved to a virtual format. But organizers are still ironing out details. MNHS says they’ll have information to students, teachers, judges and parents by the end of the week.
MNHS decided this in light of coronavirus concerns and warnings about large public gatherings.
Fingers crossed that the state competition will happen on May 2. No decisions have been made about the national contest in Washington, D.C. in June, either.
