Maple Grove To Consider 6% Tax Levy Hike
It’s budget time at local city halls. On Monday, Sept. 15, the Maple Grove City Council will consider a proposed tax levy increase.
Maple Grove officials are considering a 6.35 percent preliminary increase to its 2026 city tax levy.
For the average home of $443,400, residents would see an annual increase of roughly $95 to $105.
According to city budget data, the city’s preliminary levy increase request is on the lower end compared to other peer cities. The average levy increase is 8.64 percent, the data showed.
Several significant factors are impacting Maple Grove’s budget. Those include requests for new full-time hires, as well as health care and cost of living increase adjustments.
One of the budgeted new hires would be an assistant city prosecutor to help handle the city’s growing caseload of non-felony crimes.
The city’s budget documents are available here starting on page 143 of the council packet.
