Maple Grove Rotary Partners with Restaurant for Charity
The Rotary Club of Maple Grove will help deliver thousands of dollars in scholarships to area students this spring, among other charitable giving.
The nonprofit partnered with Malone’s Bar and Grill for fundraising. The restaurant donated 50 percent of its proceeds from sales Tuesday night.
That money will go to a variety of charitable offerings the Rotary Club oversees. That includes distributing more than $10,000 annually in scholarships.
And that’s just some of what the Rotary Club does.
“We are a very active club,” said Jill Hennesen, president of the Rotary Club of Maple Grove. “There’s something for everyone. So if you want to be planting flowers or involved in the environment, there’s projects there. If you want to be reading to kids or working with students, there are things you can do there.”
This fall the Rotary Club will be doing something new by hosting an Oktoberfest-themed fundraising event.
