Maple Grove Police Donate Vests, Helmets to Ukraine
Maple Grove police will donate ballistic vests and riot helmets to Ukrainian soldiers. The gear is past its five-year service life for the manufacturer to warranty it. However, police say the gear is still useful past the warranty.
“This is a way for the Maple Grove Police Department to help in the war in Ukraine, and to keep individuals over there safe,” said Cmdr. Jon Wetternach. “It’s equipment that we could no longer use, so we felt it’s a way to contribute to the effort.”
The Minnesota National Guard is handling the collection and shipping logistics.
