Maple Grove Neighborhood Celebrates ‘Shivering Snowman’
It was so cold Tuesday even the snowman was shivering.
A Maple Grove neighborhood quickly noticed “Shivering Snowman,” a snow sculpture created by Elton Keopraseuth.
The University of Minnesota student created the sculpture over the weekend.
Keopraseuth said he recently started competing in snow sculpting contests, including the Minnesota State Snow Sculpting Competition at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
He says it took him a day to pile up the snow, then a few hours to do the sculpting.
So how did he do it?
Keopraseuth says he used cardboard boxes to build the frame. He said he used his hands and an ice scraper to create the sculpture.
