Maple Grove Gravel Mining Area Continues to Develop
Maple Grove’s Planning Commission got an update on the gravel mining area master plan this week. The gravel mining operation is slowly changing over to development. That’s been the plan all along and it’s led to developments like the Arbor Lakes shopping center and the latest, an office park and company headquarters along Elm Creek Boulevard.
This week’s update focused on the so-called “gravel mining area south.” That space at the corner of 169 and 694 is just east of Costco. The master plan calls for mixed use development including office, warehouse, and even clean rooms for medical companies.
And it will feature a “dream space” bordering 169 and 694. That’ll be an attractive multi-story building to grab the attention of passing motorists. Any physical development is still years away.
