Maple Grove Council Member Judy Hanson Won’t Seek Re-Election
Maple Grove City Council Member Judy Hanson has announced she will not seek re-election.
Hanson’s current term expires at the end of the year.
“After nine years on the Maple Grove City Council, my term is up this year, and I have decided not to run for re-election,” said Hanson in a statement. “It was a tough decision to make because I really enjoy serving the residents of Maple Grove.”
Hanson was appointed to the Maple Grove City Council in 2015. She then went on to win election in 2016 and was re-elected in 2020.
“I am grateful for your kindness and the support I have felt over the years,” Hanson said in a statement to residents. “Maple Grove is a premier city because of the decades of hard work of our mayor, city council members, city staff and leadership, the multitudes of committed volunteers and engaged residents. Many thanks to you, and I will see you out and about while walking in our lovely city.”
The candidate filing period for Maple Grove City Council opens Tuesday, July 30, and closes 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13.
