Maple Grove Church Offers Drive-through Ashes
You could say Maple Grove Lutheran Church was ahead of the game for a socially distant Ash Wednesday service. The church has been offering ashes by drive-through for several years.
“Jesus met people where they were at. That’s what he did and what we’re called to do,” said the Rev. Christine Chiles.
Chiles believes the church has been offering drive-through ashes for about a decade. The church is located at a busy intersection, which makes it easy for people to stop by on Ash Wednesday.
Other churches are offering drive-through events and other adaptations for Ash Wednesday.
